Common Questions About Online Booking

Is online booking included in every plan?

Yes. Online booking integration is included in every GarageSite plan, starting from the Website plan at £79/month. There is no extra charge for booking functionality - it comes as standard whether you use our built-in system or embed your existing garage management system's widget.

Can I use my existing garage management system?

Absolutely. If you already use a garage management system like Autowork Online or MAM Autowork that provides its own booking widget, we can embed it directly into your GarageSite website. Bookings go straight into your existing diary with no change to your workflow. The styling may be limited since it runs inside an iframe, but it keeps everything in one place.

How do customers book through my website?

With GarageSite Bookings, the customer enters their vehicle registration, selects the services they need, picks an available date and preferred drop-off time, then fills in their contact details. The whole process takes under two minutes. You receive an email notification instantly and the booking appears in your dashboard.

Can I limit how many bookings I take per day?

Yes. You set a maximum number of bookings per day for each service individually. For example, you might allow 6 MOTs per day and 4 full services. Once a service reaches its daily limit, that date becomes unavailable in the calendar for that service. You can also set booking windows and minimum lead times to control how far ahead customers can book.

Do customers need to create an account?

No. Customers book as guests - there is no account creation, no login and no password to remember. They just fill in their details and book. They receive a confirmation email with a unique link they can use to view or cancel their booking.

What happens when a customer cancels?

If the customer cancels within your configurable cancellation window, the booking is automatically cancelled and the slot opens back up for someone else. You receive a notification so you know the diary has changed. You can set the cancellation window to whatever suits your business - 24 hours, 48 hours or more.

Can I add my own services and prices?

Yes. You have full control over which services appear in the booking widget, what they are called, their prices, durations and daily capacity. You can show fixed prices, 'from' prices or mark services as POA. Add, remove or update services at any time from your dashboard.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes - both sides. The booking widget on your website is fully responsive so customers can book from their phone just as easily as from a desktop. The garage dashboard is also mobile-friendly, so you can check and manage bookings from your phone or tablet while you are in the workshop.
